Part II

These portraits are a representation of the creative yet chaotic mind left for worldly interpretation, in a world where my expressions is typically silenced, dismissed and mislabeled the “mad/angry black woman”. Growing up in Nigeria the term mad is synonymous to a person’s erratic or confusing outbursts/personality. Also growing up in America, mad is synonymous to anger and mad black woman to an unappreciated expressive black woman.

This series is a visual representation of my ability to use my expression and words to tell stories and release emotions from a mind that is creative and chaotic.
