CALL US BY OUR NAME
This is a shared power amongst black people, adaptability. Morphing as one door closes and curtains pull as we walk into the next room. It naturally makes one the center of attention. It’s a beautiful thing to x and live in.
This is a series celebrating our versatility. This Is a concept that penetrates what’s visible to the eye. It highlights how we embody art and etherealness. Its a rendering of what my heart sees, from the lightheartedness of the pretty colors, to the mystique In the reds.
My ultimate goal Is beautifully capturing our uniqueness and celebrating this powerful thing.
I dream In color. I see In color. This gift of rainbow vision gives life to my imagination. It bleeds through my sense of style, hairstyles, outfits, moods, and my attraction to other’s uniqueness.
The girl I see in the mirror each day embodies a different energy but is ultimately a character of my imagination, and my inner child. As I get older I become more confident with altering my appearance but grapple with not being recognizable. It almost feels like a super power with an achilles heel.
