Eastside Risen Roses.

This series is inspired by the generations of black women meeting in time and their endless beauty showing off and showing out effortlessly through space and time. In an age where high rises, artisanal coffee shops, and expensive condos reshape our skyline everyday, are the forgotten and priceless landmarks that remind us of Austin’s black history. Stepping into Johnnies Antiques is like stepping into a black woman’s time capsule, adorned with the finest china, aged furniture and Nina Simone playing on vinyl. And, amongst the ever changing skyline are nostalgic and familiar spaces that makes you feel like you’re in a hair braiding salon out of Insecure.
